Make Money With A Book Reviews Website

Obviously your monetization strategy here is Amazon affiliate links.

Now I know Amazon pays sweet F all (say 5-10% on a book that sells for $10-$30), but a dollar here and there can add up…I think.

In terms of money earning power I’d put this on level with writing content for adsense money.

ie I’m thinking with enough hard work (100s of reviews and 1000s of visitors a week) you can get a monthly check for $500.

Nothing special, but hey not bad for some writing work.

The key to a book reviews site (as with most of the ideas here) is ranking high in Google and possibly building up an email list to send your reviews too.

To achieve both of these things we once again would need to choose a very specific niche…a specific type of person to target.

Good example is early stage entrepreneurs.

A website called Startup Daily is doing this in fact.  It reviews a new business book every day (the type of review that you can learn something from in and of itself…hence repeat readers) and places the corresponding Amazon links in the review.  I think the site is doing okay for him – once again, not a gold mine, but enough to pay for 3 weeks of holiday every year.  Perfect.

If you want to make a few dollars in pocket money per month, then affiliating books is great.

But if you want to get serious about Amazon affiliates, then checkout this course and software from Chris.  I’ve bought it.  It will show you exactly which products to affiliate, and even how to do it so people click on your links.
